Clean Bushwick Initiative is hosting Bushwick Repair Fest on Saturday, March 29th from 12-4 pm at Mayday Space (3rd Floor - 855 Bushwick Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11221 - link)! At this event, the community is invited to bring beloved items needing small repairs. The goal is to resist our throwaway culture through community skill sharing. So many of us toss items that could be kept from the landfill, but we lack the skills or know-how to fix them.

Volunteer repair coaches help fix/restore items or have a good time trying :) To wrap up the event, a jazz band will be playing.

Repair Stations:

🪡 Mending Circle

Got socks with holes in them? Sweater that has a rip? Bring clothing that needs sewing and learn with real mending experts!

📿 Jewelry repair

Got broken jewelry? An earring missing a mate? Bring what you have and we'll do our best to transform your jewelry into fresh and reimagined adornments!

💻 Reclaiming tech

Are you tired of feeling like technology is out to get you? Do you want to learn how we can reclaim our agency from big tech companies like Microsoft, Google, and Apple? 🪵 Basic carpentry

A demonstration of basic woodworking techniques by building wooden planter boxes from discarded pallets. Potentially able to assist with light, basic repairs of items or small furniture made of wood or composite materials whose damage isn't excessive.
