In the past, BK ROT has introduced classes from local schools and universities to visit Know Waste Lands for an immersive, educational experience. Students in fields such as urban studies, anthropology, and environmental studies have benefitted from their site visits, gaining insight on small-scale New York City compost production. 

 

Interviews could be conducted across our staff so students could gain empirical information on what it is like to be a compost producer in New York. Along with anecdotes and personal stories, the history of BK ROT would be spoken of, featuring our time line, current obstacles, and partner sites that process alongside BK ROT.
